When developing the initial design of a corrugated box for shipping your product, what is one of the first questions you will ask? More than likely, especially if UPS or FedEx are used, it will be: will it hold up during transit without damage to our product. Not only does a subpar corrugated box affect your return rate,  but it also negatively affects  customer satisfaction. That is why running corrugated box tests is crucial in designing the right box.

Some of the most common corrugated testing methods are:

  • Bursting Strength Test

  • Edge Crush Test

  • Water Resistance of the gluing

  • Cobb Sizing Tester

  • Paper Grammage and Thickness

  • Puncture resistance

  • Scuff resistance test

  • Box compression test

The most common corrugated testing methods  are the Burst Strength, Edge Crush and Box Compression methods. We will be covering all three of these tests in more detail in subsequent articles in the near future.

In the meantime, if you have designed or are in the process of designing a corrugated box, contact our design team at 847-549-1400 . Not only can we help you design the perfect box, but we also have the capability to run testing to ensure the box will hold up to your shipping requirements.
